in this universe, the Cullens never returned in New Moon and Bella just grew up in Forks, attempting to get over their absence. She still has an adrenaline junkie tendency, although she no longer hears/see her hallucinations of Edward.
I have two default scenarios for her, depending on the meme/storyline/partner :
a) she stayed close to home for college, and perhaps a couple years after graduation, before leaving to travel or find work elsewhere.
b) the reverse - she went away for college (Florida, Phoenix, or abroad) and returned home to Forks shortly after graduation.
